Woman arrested with 2 children in trunk

NEWHALL, California (AP) -- A woman was arrested after the California Highway Patrol officer who pulled her car over found nine people crammed inside, including two children in the trunk.


Dear Lord what is this world coming to? Children throughout our country are being kidnapped, raped, buried alive, and murdered. Child molesters are on the loose everywhere we look. Mothers are bringing home drunks and perverts, exposing their children to untold dangers. Still the courts will give them custody in a heartbeat. Has our country lost all sense of responsibility to those who look to us for safety and protection?

What is there to be laughing about here? No matter how you look at it the children in this case are victims. Multiple times over. That's no laughing matter. Not in my opinion.
So much pain, and misery is visited upon those least able to defend themselves.

I used to believe you could judge a nation by the way it treated the least of it's citizens. If that's the case we're a nation in deep trouble.

On a more optimistic note, it's Wednesday, the weekend is only two days away. Frankly I'm thinking I may need a couple of bottles of cheap wine to get through those next two days. Maybe even the weekend too.
